A Temperature Regime to Follow

Recently, the World Health Organization (WHO) raised the pandemic alert to 5 and Singapore’s Ministry of Health raised the alert level to Orange. As such, temperature checks and regimes are being implemented in almost every possible location.

It’s perfectly understandable, but this just signals that things are starting to get quite inconvenient..

As for myself, I have to report my temperature twice a day to my offices even on weekends, regardless of the location. Failure to do so results in unfathomable consequences on my time in service. Thus, I’ll have to bring my thermometer around with me at all times.

One good question my friend brought up:

“What happens if we’re in the train when the reporting time arrives? Do we whip out our thermometer immediately? That would surely cause quite a public disturbance….”

That surely is something worth pondering… With people suddenly hyper-aware of the simplest sneezes of the people around us, we don’t really know how people will react to the scene of a person taking his temperature. I am quite unsure of how will I react in the situation also.

One thing I’m sure at this moment: We are better prepared now compared to the time before the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARs). Hopefully, this current pandemic will be over soon.
